Restaurant Reviews
The Viceroy (Ipsos, Greece)

The restaurant was visited on Sunday, 20th Jul 2003 in the evening.
The food ordered was: For a starter we enjoyed a superb chicken tikka - we were pleased to find out that even in a holiday resort they had a charcoal tandoor oven. We followed on with a chicken jalfreize, pilau rice and a naan bread.
Quality of food
we found the quality of the food superb and very pleasantly surprised as we were a little dubious as we were on holiday in Corfu and not expecting a brilliant meal. Sauce was plentiful with the chicken and flavoursome. Naan bread to die for.
Quality of service
Friendly English lady served us and made us feel very welcome. The Chef was even English which surprised us but had learnt to cook in Pakistan.
Variety on menu
Specials alter daily - the special of the day was Lobster Balchao - A Goan dish. We didn,t sample this but noticed others tucking in and looked superb.
Decor & ambience
Lots of saris draped around the restaurant and Indian pictures, candlelit and we were served our meal on candle burners which as well as keeping the food hot added to the romantic ambience.
Location
we were staying in the resort and the restaurant located on the main drag. Outside is a road and then the sea which is great for a stroll after the meal.
Cost
Below UK prices but a little more expensive than the average Greek Taverna. There was a 1 euro cover charge but for this we received poppadoms and tomato, onion relish at the beginning of our meal.
In summary
Well worth the visit to Corfu to sample a fantastic meal. Wish there were more like it in the UK. Definitely a return visit in order at the end of the year.
